Ingrid developed the brand identity, communications system, and printed materials for the program. The design challenge was specific: build an identity that feels rooted in the landscape without competing with the art it frames. It had to recede when the work was present, and hold its own everywhere else.
The type system pairs Concrette and Saans, both by Martin Vácha for Displaay Type Foundry. The logo sets Concrette at opposing weights, light and extra bold, creating a contrast that mirrors the formation of composite materials: structure and weight held together by curve and rhythm. Saans handles the secondary register, neutral and versatile enough to move between print and digital without losing coherence. The color palette was pulled directly from the installations, earthy tones drawn from the artwork itself, so the identity never flattened what the artists brought to the forest.
The program has grown from a lean first edition in 2023 to over 600,000 visitors across editions, with sustained support from the Mellon Foundation and Bloomberg Philanthropies.
